
Michael Soelberg

Chief Michael Soelberg was appointed as the Gilbert Police Department Chief of Police in June 2017. Chief Soelberg began his law enforcement career with the Mesa Police Department in 1995. With the Town of Gilbert, Chief Soelberg has placed an emphasis on keeping up the Department’s growth with the growth of the community, which is now over 287,000 residents.
Chief Soelberg graduated from Weber State University (Ogden, UT) earning a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education degree from Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff, AZ). He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session #258, in Quantico, VA; and the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) Police Executive Leadership Institute (PELI), Class #4. Chief Soelberg is a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy Associates (FBINAA); International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP); Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP); East Valley Police Chiefs Association (EVPCA); Police Executive Research Foundation (PERF); Law Enforcement Immigration Task Force Member; East Valley NAACP; Arizona Muslim Police Advisory Board; Gilbert Chamber of Commerce; East Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (EVHCC); Arizona Auto Theft Authority Board of Directors, Chairperson; Arizona Law Enforcement Torch Run Executive Committee, Chairperson; AZCEND Board of Directors; and the Living in Fulfilled Enlightenment (L.I.F.E.) Board of Directors.
