AZCEND opens nominations for Tracey Washington Spirit Award

AZCEND is thrilled to present the Tracey Washington Spirit Award as part of our 8th Annual Spirit of AZCEND Gala festivities.

Tracey served as the Food Bank Manager at AZCEND for 14 years making a difference in our community. Tracey respected people, understood people and was committed to serving people. The significant impact he made in the lives of everyone he knew inspired his colleagues at AZCEND to create the Tracey Washington Spirit Award in his honor.

“What joy it gives to my soul to hear words of gratitude day after day, week after week, and year after year,” Tracey shared.

We are seeking a nominee who, like Tracey, embodies the core values at AZCEND: integrity, compassion, hope, excellence and respect. The nominee should actively dedicate time and energy to those in need in our community, show respect to people needing support and act as a positive role model.

As you consider potential nominees, keep in mind that candidates will be evaluated by their impact in the community, dedication of time and energy and level of volunteerism along with their ability to serve as a role model, embody the core values of AZCEND and honor others with dignity and respect.

All are encouraged to nominate a candidate for the Tracey Washington Spirit Award by Sunday, June 30.

 

Spirit of AZCEND Gala

The 8th Annual Spirit of AZCEND Gala with Casino Night is set for Friday, October 11 at the Marriott, 1600 S. Price Road in Chandler.

Festivities include dinner, casino tables and a dynamic program. “Attendees will be inspired by the lives that have been changed through the powerful intervention of food, safe shelter and intensive one-on-one coaching,” stated Shelley Nelson, Development Director at AZCEND. “Generous supporters make it all possible–we have so much to celebrate!”
