Community Action Program – Rent & Utility Assistance

Types of financial assistance available through the CAP (Community Action Program) Office:
  • Rent
  • Utility (including water, gas, electricity)
  • Mortgage
  • Eviction Prevention

If you live in Chandler, Gilbert, Sun Lakes, or the Maricopa County portion of Queen Creek, you may apply for services through the client portal (https://www.maricopa.gov/5691/Emergency-Rental-Assistance). We are now accepting applications for assistance through the Maricopa County Client Portal. Please go to: https://www.maricopa.gov/5691/Emergency-Rental-Assistance to begin your application process.

If you need assistance applying, you are welcome to visit our office locations.

***Please notify us as soon as possible if you have been to court or if your utilities have been disconnected.

AZEND is a recipient of Emergency Rental Assistance program funds. The funds are intended for those most in need. According to federal guidelines, applications for assistance will be prioritized using the following criteria:

Households living at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
Households with one or more members that have been unemployed for the past 90 days at time of application and living at or below 80% AMI
